A Thesis Proposal Title: A new technology for possible improvements of ToF PET scanners. Research area: Applied Physics and Complex Systems Approximate duration: 3 months - 9 months Place where it will be held: University of Bologna. Short topic description: The thesis aims to investigate the possibility of fast detectors usage to improve both the events location and the resolution of ToF PET equipment for nuclear medical imaging. The candidate will acquire, in addition to the state of the art of the instgrumentation of position emission tomography, the techniques for the realisation of sophisticated Monte Carlo algorithms.
